Brilliant! I bought it even though some of the reviews were very disparaging, and I'm glad that I did. I could hardly wait to get to the next chapter because of the suspense & intrigue, but at the same time didn't want the story to end! Loved Cord's character so much for his strength & integrity & found Stacey to be a pillar of strengthGood job, Ms. Shay!

Really enjoyed this book. Liked the characters, interaction between Cord & Stacey. The story moved at a fairly quick pace. Emotional.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was fascinated by how she had the hero and heroine overcome their big obstacle.
I am not an easy critic and do not give 5 stars to just anyone.
I'd never read Ms. Shay but I immediately bought more of her work.
I just couldn't finish it, I found myself skipping throug to the end. Save your money , I recommend whiskey rebellion my liliana hart,it's free right now and a great fun book with intrigue
This book had every cliche ever put in a romance novel.
Woman almost kidnapped, needs a body guard, stubbornly refuses to let the danger interrupt her life, goes off by herself, needs rescued, check
Woman is beautiful but unaware how sexy she is, check
They instantly fall for each other and you can't figure out why except they are both good looking, check
They both have some baggage, check
2. Body guard in next room, hears woman crying in her sleep, he goes in, she wraps herself around him in her sleep and won't let him go, he has to get in bed with her, check.
Woman has fiance who is an overly well groomed cold fish, check
I found myself rolling my eyes so much I decided not to finish it..
This review contains spoilers! I got this book as part of a kindle box set (Bodyguards box set). And I'm glad I didn't pay 4.99 for just this book. To be fair I couldn't finish the book, so my review is based on a couple of chapters. Reasons I didn't enjoy the book 1. The heroine was just a whiny spoiled brat. 2. The hero puts said spoiled brat ahead of his daughter - the reason. When he was 18 he slept with the spoiled brat's mother - and then sleeps with her. Ok gross. I don't care, if you know someone when they are five and then lust after them, even though they are legal, it's just a turn off. The whole time the relationship is developing she has a fiancé! Obviously the hero likes women that are taken, turn off. Even if the fiancé turns out to be the bad guy at the end (that's just a guess), I really don't want to read about him getting cheated on especially by a guy who cheated before on the love interests dad. If you are unhappy in your marriage get a divorce and if you are the one doing the cheating - you don't really deserve a happy ending.... This along with the constant whining from the heroine prevented me from finishing the book. I really just didn't care what the resolution was. Reader - you can find something better to spend your time and energy on.
I enjoyed reading this book It was the first book by this author I have read, but it won't be the last. It had avery sexy alpa man and a very stand up for yourself kinda girl. Very well written sex scenes and the suspense was realistic and well written
As usual I loved this novel by Kathryn Shay.
She writes about tough subjects with such diplomacy
and what the main character(s) deal with to come to
a solution. She understands the human condition really well.
She is an excellent writer and I wish some of her books
were not put under Romance so more people would read them!
